In North America, this episode was banned due to the excessive use of guns which subsequently caused continuity problems due to Ash capturing a herd of Tauros.Episode 38 was not aired outside Asia. This episode caused over 700 Japanese children to suffer seizures due to a flashing strobe effect of a red and blue flash. The episode was never commercially released or re-broadcast anywhere in the world. The show went on a four month hiatus in Japan following this event.
