This season had 82 episodes (in Japan), but only 80 were aired in the USA.

Episode 35 was not aired outside Asia. In North America, this episode was banned due to the excessive use of guns which subsequently caused continuity problems due to Ash capturing a herd of Tauros.

Episode 38 was not aired outside Asia. This episode caused over 700 Japanese children to suffer seizures due to a flashing strobe effect of a red and blue flash. The episode was never commercially released or re-broadcast anywhere in the world. The show went on a four month hiatus in Japan following this event.
